Blast Furnace Blowpipes, Elbows & Pulverized Coal Injection Lances

Blast furnace blowpipes bridge the tuyere stocks and the tuyeres. They convey high-temperature pre-heated air blasts and are the entry point for auxiliary fuels like pulverized coal (PCI). Due to the high velocity, abrasive coal dust, and intense radiation, blowpipes are prone to internal wear and thermal cracking.

Excellors custom-manufactures and supplies blowpipe bodies, water-cooled elbows, pulverized coal injection lances, and inline pipeline strainers. Our blowpipes feature specialized internal refractory insulation and a hard-faced inner liner to resist coal dust abrasion. The pipeline strainers are custom-fabricated with stainless wire-mesh grids and heavy bolted flanges to capture particulates in high-volume gas lines.

Technical Enhancements

  • Double-Sleeved Injection Lances: Outer shielding gas sleeve to prevent coal scaling and nozzle melting.
  • Wear-Resistant Blowpipe Elbows: Chromium-carbide hard facing at high-wear elbow bends.
  • Bolted Inline Strainers: Removable wire-mesh safety screens integrated directly into pipeline flanges to intercept debris.
  • Optimized Refractory Layer: Lightweight refractory castable lining ensuring minimal thermal loss.
  • Gas-Tight Seal Flanges: Precision face-milled joints that eliminate blast pressure drop.

Product Advantages

By custom-alloying the injection lance tips and optimizing the refractory castable formulation, our blowpipes provide a 20% longer operational life than standard structural steel fabrications. This prevents intermediate lance changes and blast-furnace check stops.
