Heavy material hoppers are designed to receive, store, and discharge highly abrasive bulk materials like iron ore, sinter, and coal. They operate under massive dynamic impact loads and require structural reinforcements and wear-resistant liners to ensure long-term durability without structural deformation.
Under the Atma-Nirbhar (Self-Reliant India) initiative of the Government of India, Excellors has designed, manufactured, and supplied several heavy-capacity receiving hoppers, Blast Furnace Burden Tanks, and raw material feeding troughs. Fabricated from high-tensile structural steel, these components feature segmented wear liner plates, heavy-duty support frames, and external stiffeners to absorb dynamic impact.
Challenge: Fabricating massive hopper cones that exceed standard highway clearance limits when pre-assembled at our Gangavathi workshop.
Solution: Cones were fabricated in modular, precision-milled segments. The final alignment check was performed in our shop using temporary jig setups, after which the modules were safely transported to Jajpur, Odisha, and welded on-site under strict QA monitoring.
